Body Detox – Is It For You?

I don’t know if most of you know, “body detox” or body detoxification, is a method of “internally cleansing” your body that can help you improve your health, lifestyle, appearance and well being.

Supporters of body detox say that a regular body detox is needed to provide a thorough internal cleansing and to remove toxins. Just as people recovering from drug addiction might detoxify for drugs or alcohol, in deeper cases, a body detox will detoxify you not just from those substances if you’ve been exposed to them but unhealthy substances in your environment such as stress, pollution or other factors and diet.

You may very well be suffering from a certain level of toxicity in your body and a detox might help, If you suffer from any of the following symptoms:

· Irritable bowel syndrome
· Bloating
· Stomach pain
· Constipation or diarrhea
· Weight gain or loss
· Being tired or having chronic fatigue
· Having acid reflux or other indigestion problems
· Skin breakouts, eczema or other problems.
· Dull, dry or excessively oily hair, or other problems, such as breakage
· Intestinal parasites
· Many other symptoms, including mood swings or other mood “disorders”

A detox can help you alleviate these symptoms as well as others. If you’ve had these problems for a significant period of time and they are not caused by existing disease factors, then a detox might help you and in fact, cleansing may have the most dramatic effect for you.

A detox can help you restore the balance so that you have enough “good” bacteria internally to help control the bad. If, like many Americans, you have a poor diet or don’t exercise enough, organisms such as “bad” bacteria may, in fact, begin to overtake the good and may cause you to have other symptoms.

Although this comes as much from healthier food choices as it does from the detox itself, it may even help you lose weight. Once you’ve gotten the detox done, you’ll want to make healthier food choices so that the benefits from the detox can be maintained longer.
